Samsara runs the vehicle. InstaRoute runs the vehicle and the trip.
Samsara is a deep connected-operations platform: GPS, AI dash cams, DVIR, maintenance, ELD, routing, and driver coaching. InstaRoute is built around the dispatched trip. GPS, road and cabin footage, inspections, time, radio, inbox, payments, and the customer website sit on the same reservation record, priced per vehicle.
Samsara gateways and cameras work in InstaRoute the same way InstaRoute's own camera does. Dispatch won't see a difference.
When the term ends
Roll into InstaRoute hardware, or keep Samsara's. Most operators roll over: one vendor, one bill.
The honest math
Keeping Samsara usually costs more in total, since you still pay its subscription. Vehicles that keep it are priced on request.
Credit where it's due
Good at what it's for.
Samsara does this well
Samsara is a mature, broad platform with telematics, AI video safety, ELD compliance, equipment and asset tracking, maintenance, and driver coaching across many vehicle types. For mixed fleets, interstate buses that need ELD, or one safety program across trucks, equipment, and sites, that breadth is a real strength.
Broad telematics and AI video safety
ELD and compliance depth
Fits large mixed fleets
Where the operating model differs
InstaRoute starts from the reservation. When a customer disputes a trip, the footage, GPS track, radio and phone calls, inspection photos, and payment are already on that trip, so nobody matches timestamps across two portals.

Bring this to both demos
Test it on a real day.
1
Pick a real complaint from last month. Time how long it takes to find the right vehicle, driver, and clip in each system.
2
Follow a failed pre-trip inspection to a work order, and see whether dispatch knows the vehicle is out of service before assigning it.
3
Connect one of your Samsara-equipped vehicles and confirm its location, safety events, and footage show on the InstaRoute map and trip record.
Where each one fits
Different setups. Different answers.
May fit
Samsara
may fit fleets that want a dedicated telematics and safety platform across many asset types. If you run interstate long-haul work that needs ELD, keep Samsara for that.
May fit
InstaRoute
may fit livery and shuttle operators that want GPS, cameras, and inspections connected to dispatch and each reservation. Most of that work is not interstate long haul.
May fit
Already on Samsara
you can keep the hardware you have. It works inside InstaRoute like InstaRoute's own camera, so switching platforms doesn't mean reinstalling vehicles.
Before you book the call
Questions operators ask first.
Yes. Samsara hardware works inside InstaRoute the same way InstaRoute's own camera does: location, safety events, and footage land on the map and the trip. Ask us about pricing for vehicles that keep Samsara hardware.
Yes. Move dispatch and the rest of the operation now and keep your Samsara hardware working inside InstaRoute. When the term ends, roll into InstaRoute hardware or keep Samsara's. Most operators roll over, since keeping both usually costs more in total.
No. Most livery and shuttle work is not interstate long haul, so most of these operators don't need ELD. If you do, keep Samsara for that.
InstaCam does not stream live video. It captures AI safety events, takes snapshots on demand, and keeps trip footage tied to the reservation.
InstaCam is $94 per vehicle each month on a 24-month agreement. Cameras are included, with no upfront hardware purchase.
